SURVIVOR 8 ALL-STARS ~ If the online polls are right, Rupert Boneham may be the most popular castaway of all time ~ no small point during All-Stars.  The bearded king of tie-dyed tank-tops finished fourth, yet to his benefit and great fortune show producer Mark Burnett had an All-Star-caliber surprise to spring.  Namely a viewer-voted million-dollar-bonus, and let it be said that Rupert deserved every nickel of it!

Rupert Boneham of Survivor 7 Pearl Islands was Survivor's very own 'Wild Man of Borneo'.  So bet your bottom dollar that Hollywood's next caveman flick will feature ol' Rupert in some key role or other.
For ten solid episodes Rupert was *the* face of S7, as ubiquitous a presence as they come.  And rightly so.  Not to put too fine a point on it, but seriously if we're ever stranded in the wild for real, we'd welcome having the guy alongside.  Because with Rupert around, one would never starve, and probably wouldn't long for conversation, either.
Unfortunately on Survivor it's not necessarily about catching fish, nor spinning tales, nor rallying the troops.  It's about staying under the radar enough to *not* attract votes at Tribal Council, and in that sense Rupert never had a chance.  From the get-go he was a clear threat to win it all, and in a game where backroom alliances dictate the action, Rupert's ouster on Day 27 didn't surprise many.

Even so the wild man had the last laugh.  For he was the *only* S7 castaway invited to participate in the S8 All-Stars, and interestingly enough was right back in Panama competing even as his S7 ouster was airing on CBS for the first time.  Yes, Rupert deserved a better fate than befell him on S7, but we shall see what S8 holds in store...
